Veggie Van
Most restaurants pay to have their used vegetable oil removed from their property. Instead, the Knowles collect it (along with the used oil from Pleasantdale Château and The Manor), filters it twice and stores it in heavy-duty barrels at The Manor. It is then pumped into the gas tank of our Dodge Sprinter delivery van, affectionately known as the “Veggie Van”.
The diesel engine van plays a major role in the restaurant group’s day-to-day business. It regularly travels forth and back to Ram’s Head Inn, 114 miles away, to deliver supplies, newly upholstered chairs (see Flagship Property), vegetables from the farm and sometimes even extra staff for large events.
