Wedding entertainment

Music is such an important part of your wedding day, from the first notes of your processional song to the song you choose for your First Dance to the music that keeps your dance floor filled all night long. The big question for you is: do you want a live band or a deejay as the entertainment at your wedding?

It all depends on the style of entertainment you prefer, which many of our wedding couples say they decide during other weddings they’ve attended. If they have been guests at a wedding that had an energetic, talented live band, they may decide that a live band is the style of entertainment for them. If they’ve experienced the hip, clublike energy of a great deejay, they may choose that style of entertainer to fill their wedding venue with fabulous music that sets the tone for each stage of their wedding celebration. It’s a top wedding trend to create your own logo or monogram, featuring your first initials and last initial – or just your married last initial — in an artistic insignia. Artists have taken the traditional monogram logo and given it a beautiful, decorative twist for more visual effect, such as with delicate flourishes above and below the logo, rather than the monogram being in a circle. Or, the logo might be a square, a rectangle with ornate borders, or an oval. Read more…

We’ve certainly seen our fair share of bold colors and wedding elements derived from statement pieces and color blocking recently. And we anticipate seeing more influences from the neons (especially pinks and oranges) and fuchsias that are walking the runways. But for those with a more classic aesthetic, you’ll be reassured to know that we’ve also been noticing already this year–on the other side of the spectrum–softer wedding trends.  We expect wedding trends to drift even further in this direction. While over-the-top weddings will remain popular for sure, look for them to share the spotlight with more natural, less overstated affairs.

Honor Parents

Honoring Parents

In the past, parents were seen as the hosts of the wedding, based on their names being featured on the wedding invitation. They may have participated in the ceremony, and stood in the receiving line, and the father danced with the bride.

Now, according to top wedding trends, there are even more ways to honor your parents, and their lifetime of love and support, at your wedding celebrations, regardless of how much they may be paying for the wedding itself. Today’s bride and groom are more likely to pay for much of the wedding themselves, but they still want to pay lovely tribute to their parents and step-parents, as the case may be. Read more…
